Activate, to activate the BI Content bundle

Simulate Activation, if you want to check the activation run before activating it For example, the RFC connections, the availability of the BI Content objects in a bundle, and the consistency of the bundles during multiple selection are all checked.

On the screen Activate Content Bundle, specify the RFC connections and source systems. Check the BI Content and the result of one or more activation runs. You can also choose how to treat already activated BI Content objects during the activation run.

Choose RFC Mapping, to specify RFC connections for the activation.

Specify the RFC connections for activation without a system logon background and for activation with a system logon dialog.

Mark the RFC connection that you want to use for the activation of local BI Content objects as Local, if required.

A local RFC connection is necessary for the successful activation of a BI Content bundle if the bundle contains BI Content objects that are in the local BW client used for local reporting.

The local BW client does not have to be in the currently used system: For example, if you work with two CRM systems. the local BI Content objects may be in the system in which you are not currently working. Make sure you specify the RFC connection that allows access to the local BI Content

Select an RFC Destination for Content Objects one of the destinations that you previously specified in RFC Mapping. The RFC connection refers to the BW client where the BI content is to be activated. This could be

either a client in a hub BW system or a BW client in the source system/OLTP for local reporting.

For the activation of local BI Content, only the RFC connection that you defined as Local is used see above.

Specify the source systems by choosing one of the following options:

No DataSource Replication, if you do not want to assign a source system

Current Logon Client, to assign the logical system currently in use usability as source system is not checked during the activation run

All Clients of Logon System, to assign all clients of the current system

Selected Source Systems, to enable manual assignment of source systems: Choose Select, to assign source systems

As it is possible to run DataSource replication not only in the current client, but also in any other system client or even any other system, you can select various logical systems in the BI Content bundle.

Determine how already activated BI Content objects are to be treated during the activation run. Choose:

Copy, if already activated objects are to be overwritten without confirmation

Match, if you want a confirmation to be displayed before overwriting

Choose Show Detail, to check which BI content objects are contained in the selected bundle and need to be activated. Objects that are activated in the local BW client are marked as Local. Choose Check Consistency,

to check the availability of the listed BI Content in the assigned source systems and via the specified RFC connection.

Activate, to activate the BI Content using the specified RFC Destination for Content Objects

Activate in Background, to perform the activation without manual logon to the source system a corresponding RFC connection needs to be specified, for example, with a background user such as ALEREMOTE

If you have chosen the option Match for the treatment of already activated BI Content objects see above, these objects will not be overwritten during activation in the background.

Simulate Activation, to continue with the simulation

Choose Show Log, to open a list of logs for completed activation runs. Each entry provides information about whether a log is available for a particular activation run logs can be deleted, the time and the status when the run was completed, which user started

the run and which RFC connection was used. Choose an entry for which a log exists and copy it to open the log.

You can delete activation run logs:

Yes, if you want to delete the log and the status of the activation run

No, if you want to delete the log but want to retain the status information.
